A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDER

They say, “no one grows up dreaming of becoming a roofer, roofing chooses you” that old saying rings true to me. I stumbled into the trade almost accidentally. I was in between jobs, walking down the street, trying to figure out my next move. As I was passing a roofing storefront, something told me to go inside and ask for a job; call it fate, call it coincidence, but there was a reason I walked through those doors that day. They offered me an immediate start position (as if good, hard workers were hard to come by) which made sense later on.

I immediately fell in-love with the job. From the backbreaking work of tearing-off old roofs and carrying bundles of shingles all day, to the adrenaline of navigating steep slopes and working at extreme heights in unforgiving weather conditions. Roofing kept me humble, grounded and on my toes all day. But above all, nothing compared to the sense of accomplishment I felt after a long day of hard work and stepping back to admire the finished result.

As time went on, I grew frustrated with what I saw in the industry. After working with several roofing companies across Southern Idaho, I saw too many situations where quality took the back seat — cutting corners, rushing jobs, and maximizing profit. Homeowners were paying good money for work that didn’t reflect the value they deserve. I knew there had to be a better way.

That’s where Lofty was born.

We’re not in the business of “good enough” or margin-maximizing (providing the lowest quality materials at the highest mark-ups). Lofty is about having pride in your work, going the extra mile, remaining true north and delivering exceptional results. Your roof protects your most valuable assets, it deserves full attention to detail, from start-to-finish.
